The Selfish Circle Must Be Broken—Somolites Say No to Bowale Sosimi

There is a politician in our midst who appears to view public office as a birthright. For over two decades, he has held various positions, recycling titles and promises without meaningful delivery. Now, once again, he returns—seeking the office of Council Chairman—not out of a desire to serve, but seemingly out of a fixation with power.

Bowale Sosimi has come to symbolize everything wrong with Somolu's political landscape: detached from today's realities, unwilling to embrace innovation, and resistant to youth inclusion. While Somolu's vibrant population pushes for progress, he offers stale rhetoric and outdated ideas. This is no longer acceptable.

Let us be clear: this is not service, it is a relentless pursuit of personal ambition cloaked as leadership. His track record is marred by unfulfilled promises and inaction during critical times. Rather than nurturing new voices, he has consistently stood in their way. His interest appears to be political longevity, not community advancement.

We must not be deceived or discouraged. This is a defining moment in Somolu’s political journey. We must choose progress over stagnation, vision over recycled vanity, and the future over the past.

Somolu deserves better. The people deserve better. And with one voice, we declare: WE DO NOT SUPPORT THE IMPOSITION OF BOWALE SOSIMI AS CHAIRMAN OF SOMOLU LOCAL GOVERNMENT. Two decades of disappointment is enough.

We appeal to His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Senator Anthony Adefuye, our apex leaders led by Apostle Peter Oyewusi, Rep. Hon. Ademorin Kuye, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and the outgoing Bariga LCDA Chairman: Please respect the will of the people. Do not impose Bowale Sosimi on Somolu.

We have turned the page on the old order.
O To Ge Fun Bowale Sosimi Ni Somolu o.

—Concerned Somolites
